Corrosion Resistance Tables in ChemBase

ChemBase has corrosion tables (embedded spreadsheet tables) in the "Comment" field.

When opened up, Chembase should look like:-

Components can be searched for by name by simply typing it in. Most synonyms are included. For example, you might want to know what materials are resistant to sea water. After setting the visible field to "Name:" and "Comment:", look for water...

To extract the corrosion table from the database for use in a report file, first tap on the embedded spreadsheet icon:-

then press Ctrl-C to copy it to the clipboard. The open up the project file and paste in the table with Ctrl-V. You should have:-

Now open up the table with a double-tap and highlight everything below the heading and above the legend to get ready for a sort. Access the menu "sort"  option, and choose the "H" column for ascending sort according to the materials' resistance to sea water, as below:-

Now press "OK" and you should have all your materials suitable for salt water listed first, followed by materials that have to be used with caution, and then finally unsatisfactory materials, as below:-

Please note that these tables are simple guides. There are parameters such as fluid velocity, trace impurities etc. which may have a dramatic effect on the corrosion rates suggested in the table.
